New Penal Code Steps into Force Today

Ljubljana, 1 November - A new penal code steps into force in Slovenia on Saturday. The document introduces life imprisonment, a register of convicted child sex offenders and community work as an alternative form of punishment for smaller crimes. It also categorises as crime attempts by employers to dissuade women employees from getting pregnant.
