Govt Officials to Help Save Money Through Pay Cuts

Ljubljana, 24 December - As the economy struggles to weather the crisis, the government decided Wednesday to do some belt-tightening itself. The salaries of ministers and state secretaries will be cut by about EUR 200 gross while the 2,350 public sector directors will not get a 0.5% pay increase in 2009, which is expected to save some EUR 500,000.
