Minister Wants Free Hand to Pick Police Chief

Ljubljana, 18 February - Interior Minister Katarina Kresal told the press on Wednesday that she did not pick any of the candidates who had applied for the post of police commissioner. She said she would propose to the government to change the law so that commissioner is no longer appointed through a public call for applications.
