Weekly Review of Slovene Economy from 7 to 12 May

Ljubljana, 13 May - The Development Fund of the Republic of Slovenia and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) signed Friday a contract for the opening of a fund for the reconstruction and management of companies (SRP Holding) with headquarters in Slovenia. Its task will be the capitalization and restructuring of companies with problems. Medium-sized Slovene companies with business problems, but having interesting programmes and possibilities for development, owned by the fund will be included in the project; the project is to last five years, then the companies are to be ready for independence or purchase. The EBRD signed a similar contract in Koper Thursday with Finor. The bank will invest 10 million ECU in the holding company Eurofin, while Finor will invest some of its companies in the need of fresh capital for their modernization.
