Slovenia Marks Lipizzaner Day
Ljubljana, 19 May - Slovenia celebrates Lipizzaner Day on 19 May in remembrance of the day Archduke Charles, the ruler of Slovenian territories, bought the estate and the stud farm Lipica, the home of the world-famous Lipizzaner horses, in 1580. The Slovenian Association of Lipizzaner Breeders will mark the day at Brdo pri Kranju on Sunday.
