Number of Marriages Rises, Divorces Drops in 2008

Ljubljana, 4 August - The number of marriages in 2008 increased over the year before, while the number of divorces dropped. In 2008, 6,703 couples tied the knot, up 5.2% compared to 2007, while 2,246 went separate ways, which is 14.1% less than in 2007, the national Statistics Office said on Tuesday.
