Maribor, 9 September - Slovenia cruised to a 3:0 (2:0) victory over Poland in Maribor on Wednesday to stay in contention to qualify for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. Slovenian goals were scored by Zlatko Dedic (12th), Milivoje Novakovic (45th) and Valter Birsa (62nd).
