Time Not Yet Ripe for Strong EU Leader, PM Says

Brussels, 19 November - Prime Minister Borut Pahor rued a missed opportunity by the EU to appoint a "strong European leader" after the bloc filled on Thursday leading positions created by the Lisbon Treaty. He nevertheless said the appointment of Belgian Prime Minister Herman Van Rompuy as the first permanent president of the European Council was a milestone.
