Police Praised for Role in 1989 "Operation North"

Ljubljana, 30 November - Slovenian police were showered with praise Monday for their role in Operation North, the 1989 police campaign which prevented a disputed rally that Serbian nationalists wanted to stage in Ljubljana. The operation provided vital support to the democratic process, president Danilo Tuerk told a celebration of the 20th anniversary of the campaign.
