Inmates Taking Slovenia to European Court of Human Rights

Ljubljana, 11 January - Lawyer Franci Matoz has filed a complaint against Slovenia at the European Court of Human Rights on behalf 236 inmates for violation of human rights, daily Zurnal 24 reported on Monday. Matoz told STA the inmates demanded EUR 15,000 compensation each. Thus Slovenia could face EUR 4.1m damages claims for locking up criminals in overcrowded prisons.
