President Calls on Slovenians to Back Referendum

Ljubljana, 4 May - After parliament called a referendum on the Slovenia-Croatia border arbitration agreement for 6 June, President Danilo Tuerk said Slovenians should back the accord because it provided a good legal framework for a fair solution of the border issue. Meanwhile, the Catholic Church said it would not get involved in the debate.
