Central Bank Calls for More Powers in Protecting Consumers
Ljubljana, 29 October - Banka Slovenije, the country's central bank, responded to criticism that it did not do enough to prevent banks charging illegal fees by saying that it had limited powers in dealing with issues of competition. It urged legislative changes which would give it greater leverage in protecting the consumer.
