Fourth Anniversary of Slovene Monetary Independence

"As the central bank we can be satisfied with the adapting of the Slovene economy to new circumstances that arose after the proclamation of the monetary independence," France Arhar, Governor of the Bank of Slovenia, told the Slovene News Agency (STA) before the 4th anniversary of Slovene monetary independence. After Slovenia had proclaimed its independence, the first important step of the central bank in the implementation of the monetary independence was the introduction of the new Slovene currency tolar. Slovenia announced its monetary independence four years from Sunday, 8 October 1991.
