National Assembly Passes Press Agency Act

Ljubljana, 15 June - The National Assembly passed on Wednesday the act on Slovenian Press Agency (STA) in a 49-to-29 vote. The act introduces a supervisory board and aims at increasing the agency's independence and the journalists' say in the appointment of the editor-in-chief. The act is also to prevent any possible funding problems.
