Farmers Reject Proposed Tax Registers System

Ljubljana, 18 August - A proposal by the Finance Ministry to curb tax evasion in cash payments via a centrally controlled system of tax registers has been met with strong resistance from farmers. Pointing to the expenses and red tape involved, the farmers want to confine the new system to farms with a turnover of over EUR 42,000.
