Govt Says Public Sector Pay Cut Not Its Idea, Unions Plan Strike

Ljubljana, 8 September - PM Borut Pahor insisted on Thursday that the government was not behind Wednesday's proposal of a parliamentary committee for a 4% pay cut in the public sector by the end of 2012, but failed to impress trade unions, which have responded by announcing preparations for a possible general strike.
