President Unveils Memorial to World War II POWs

Maribor, 15 September - President Danilo Tuerk unveiled in Maribor on Thursday a memorial dedicated to the thousands of World War II POWs imprisoned by Germans at Stalag XVIII-D in Maribor. "Today we remember their agony and death with respect and with the belief that such horrors may never happen again," the president said at the ceremony.
