Thousands Hit Streets to Usher in 2012

Ljubljana/Maribor, 1 January - Crowds of people hit the streets and squares of cities and towns around Slovenia on New Year's Eve to welcome 2012 at traditional open-air celebrations. Some 50,000 people are estimated to have awaited the coming of the new year outside in the centre of Ljubljana and over 20,000 in Maribor.
