Culture Day Ceremonies Commemorate Poet Prešeren
Vrba/Kranj/Ljubljana, 8 February - Slovenia celebrates Culture Day on Wednesday, a bank holiday observed on the anniversary of death of its foremost poet France Prešeren, (1800-1849). Events commemorating his life and work are held across the country, many of them resonating reactions to the decision to abolish Culture Ministry.
