WWI Ordnance Complicating Efforts to Contain Wildfire near Nova Gorica
Nova Gorica, 3 August - A wildfire broke out near the western town of Nova Gorica on Thursday afternoon, engulfing rough mountain terrain of Slovenia's westernmost region. Efforts to contain the fire so far have proved ineffective, with the work of about 70 fire-fighters being further complicated by remains of unexploded WWI ordnance.
