Golob, Starmer affirm cooperation in fight against organised crime

Prime Minister Robert Golob and his British counterpart Keir Starmer met on Thursday on the sidelines of a meeting of the European Political Community where the pair advocated for the strengthening of cooperation in the fight against organised crime. Slovenia and United Kingdom will improve the exchange of knowledge and information.

Mount Trstelj fire still not under control, could be tonight

The wildfire that broke out on Mount Trstelj in western Slovenia early on Thursday to engulf some 150 hectares of forest, is still not under control, the national Firefighters' Association said, expressing the hope that it will be tonight, or at least over the night, as additional firefighting forces are expected.

Slovenia signs security agreement with Ukraine

Slovenian Prime Minister Robert Golob and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed a bilateral security agreement as they met on the sidelines of a meeting of the European Political Community in Oxford, UK. The agreement is proof of strong support for Ukraine, Golob said on the occasion.

New STA director takes office

Mojca Prelesnik will take over as the director of the Slovenia Press Agency (STA) on Thursday, having been appointed for a five-year term in April. The former information commissioner has said that she will focus on providing good conditions for the agency, including stable funding, as well as services the media market needs.
