Finance Minister Klemen Boštjančič survived an SDS-sponsored ouster motion, which fell 17 votes short of the required 46 votes after a lengthy debate in parliament on Wednesday. 47 MPs voted against the motion. In his first statement after the vote the minister said the debate had mostly been a political spectacle.

The government adopted on Wednesday Slovenia's new foreign policy strategy, which better reflects the current global geopolitical situation, said FM Tanja Fajon. The strategy was endorsed on the first day of the annual conference of Slovenia's diplomats after about a year of preparations and inter-ministerial coordination.

"I cannot be held responsible for actions in the purview of other ministries and ministers," he said.

PM Robert Golob and Foreign Minister Tanja Fajon stressed that Slovenia's reputation has further increased due to the hard work over the past year as they addressed the annual meeting of Slovenian diplomats on Wednesday. Golob said the government would soon adopt a new foreign policy strategy, with Fajon later adding it may be adopted today.
