Beleaguered Maribor Mayor Steps Down

Maribor, 6 December - Maribor Mayor Franc Kangler is stepping down after anger over his decision to set up speed traps and mounting allegations of corruption in Slovenia's second city sparked a series of protests across the country. He announced on Thursday his resignation was effective of 31 December.
