Beleaguered Maribor Mayor Steps Down

Maribor, 6 December - Maribor Mayor Franc Kangler has announced his intention to step down on 31 December after anger provoked by his decision to set up speed traps and mounting allegations of corruption in Slovenia's second city sparked a series of protests across the country, culminating in Monday's riots in Maribor.
