Mercator to Lay Off 800-1,000 Employees This Year

Ljubljana, 30 January - The group around Slovenia's leading retailer, Mercator, will cut 800-1,000 jobs this year as it seeks to reduce overhead and cut costs, CEO Toni Balažič told Wednesday's edition of the business daily Finance after the company reported a record EUR 104m loss for 2012.
