Slovenian Cardinal among Electors Choosing New Pope

Vatican City, 11 March - As the 115 cardinals electors convene the conclave on Tuesday to elect a new pope, a Slovenian cardinal will be among them for the first time in history. The 78-year-old Franc Rode was elevated to the post of cardinal on 24 March 2006 by Pope Benedict XVI, whose successor he will now help elect.
