VAT Hike for Books "Suicide", Booksellers Say

Ljubljana, 13 May - The Chamber of Publishers and Booksellers has said that the planned VAT increase from 8.5% to 9.5% for books was a "short-sighted and suicidal act". For EUR 800,000 the measure is expected to bring in, the government is risking the collapse of the entire book chain, from the authors to the readers, the chamber has said.
