Slovenia Avoids EU Action on Imbalances, Given Until 2015 to Reduce Deficit

Brussels, 29 May - The European Commission said on Wednesday it would not institute proceedings for excessive economic imbalances against Slovenia for the time being, but urged the country to act quickly to fix its ailing banks. The country also received two additional years to bring its budget deficit in line with EU rules.
