Beet Growers Want to Relaunch Slovenia's Sugar Factory

Ormož, 5 July - Slovenia must find a way to relaunch its sugar production as soon as possible, the Association of Sugar Beet Growers told the press in Ormož on Friday, as they welcomed the EU's decision to abolish sugar quotas in 2017. Slovenia closed its only sugar factory in 2006 because it failed to meet production quota under the EU sugar policy reform.
