Slovenia Remembers Its Key Military Figure

Kamnik, 23 November - Slovenia observes Rudolf Maister Day on Saturday in memory of the day in 1918 on which General Rudolf Maister (1874-1934) took control of Maribor and in effect secured what later became Slovenia's northern border. The main ceremony in Maister's birth town Kamnik will be addressed by President Borut Pahor.
