Commissioner Promises Protection of Small Seed Producers

Brussels, 16 December - European Commissioner for Health and Consumer Policy Tonio Borg assured Slovenian Agriculture Minister Dejan Židan on Monday that small producers of seeds and saplings would be protected in the animal and plant control package of Smarter Rules for Safer Food, which spurred vigorous criticism over its restrictiveness in May.
