Govt to Adopt Measures in Wake of Ice Storm

Ljubljana, 6 February - The government is expected to adopt on Thursday measures to speed up the repair of the damage caused by sleet and snow that brought down power lines and affected about 40% of Slovenian forests over the past few days. Slovenia is also to request aid from the EU solidarity fund.

Pivka, in southwestern Slovenia, is encased in ice as the ice storm that brought freezing rain and sleet persists for the sixth day.
