Government Moves for Immediate Resumption of Negotiations with FIDES

At its regular session Thursday, the Government passed the program of active employment policy measures for 1996, paying special attention to the information on the course of negotiations with FIDES, the physicians and dentists union, which Minister of Labour and head of the government negotiations group Anton Rop presented at the news conference following the session. With some 3000 doctors on strike for half a month, the Government passed the report prepared by its negotiation group, authorizing it to immediately resume negotiations with FIDES until an agreement is reached.
