Deputy Speaker Tomc Resigns in Protest at Patria Ruling

Ljubljana, 30 April - Democrats (SDS) MP Romana Tomc resigned as deputy speaker of parliament on Wednesday, only days after the Ljubljana Higher Court upheld a guilty verdict against SDS president Janez Janša in a corruption case. She said that none of the three branches of power was doing its job and thus the post of deputy speaker lost its meaning.
