Despite Negotiations Railway Strike Begins

Ljubljana, 10 April - RAILWAYS/STRIKE
Employees of the Slovene Railways went on strike Wednesday, although negotiations between the trade union and the management of the Slovene Railways went on Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning. The negotiators agreed on the initial salary and benefits, however no agreement was reached on the so-called Saturday supplement; the employers were offering a supplement of 15 percent while the employees demanded 20 percent, Director of the Slovene Railways Marjan Rekar told a news conference.
