Parliament Authorizes Government to Sign Association Agreement

Ljubljana, 11 April - PARLIAMENT/FOREIGN/POLICY
With 44 votes "for" and 2 "against" (52 deputies present) the parliament Thursday passed findings and decisions concerning Slovene relations to the European Union and NATO, including the government- proposed amendment that one of key conditions for equal membership in EU is free traffic of real estate, consequently the Parliament moved for releasing the market. Also, with 49 votes "for" and 14 votes "against" (58 deputies present) the Parliament passed the government amendment on the Parliament authorizing the government to sign the European agreement on Slovene associated membership to EU on the basis of EU views endorsed at Madrid summit of EU Council and resolutions the European Parliament passed last November.
