Food with Expired "Best Before" Date to Remain on Shelves

Ljubljana, 28 May - New rules on the general labelling of pre-packaged foodstuffs have entered into force in Slovenia, allowing retailers to continue to sell products with long shelf life even after the expiry of the "best before" date. The government believes the move will contribute to reducing the quantity of discarded food.
