Over 40 Lectures at 4th Capital Fair

The 4th financial fair Capital 96 opened Tuesday in Ljubljana's Cankarjev dom congress and cultural centre, presenting 80 Slovene banks, stockbroking houses, insurance companies and counselling agencies along with goldsmiths and jewelry makers. Opened by head of Parliamentary Committee for Credit-Monetary Policies Janez Kopač, the fair is mainly educational in character as it features over 60 lectures, round tables and discussions. Kopač stressed the state was obliged to protect small investors, but state bodies lack appropriate knowledge causing a delay in preparing bills on banking, financial operations with foreign countries and securities market.
