Incomplete Government May Remain In Power No Longer than Three Months

Ljubljana, 17 April - Continuing its 38th regular session, the National Assembly endorsed Wednesday the law on government which defines anew the functions of the government as a body of executive authority and the supreme agency of public administration. Despite a different decision in an earlier legislative procedure, the Parliament confirmed during third reading the currently valid legislation stipulating that an incomplete government with less than two thirds of all ministers may remain in operation no longer than three months. If the Parliament fails to appoint the entire government within three months after the government was rendered incomplete, the premier and the ministers are dismissed.
