Slovenian Minority Member Becomes Head of Austrian Federal Council

Klagenfurt, 1 July - Ana Blatnik has become the president of the Austrian upper chamber of parliament as the first member of the Slovenian minority in Austria to assume what is the fourth top office in Austria. In her six-month term as president of the Federal Council, Blatnik will promote education, women's rights, youth policy and minority issues.
