This Year's Average Monthly Unemployment Estimated at 120 Thousand

Ljubljana, 22 April - There were 120,780 registered unemployed in Slovenia at the end of March 1996. This is by 2.4 percent down compared to February and 4.7 percent down compared to the end of 1995. Data comparison between the first three months of 1996 and the same period last year shows an increase in unemployment by about 10 percent. Among the registered unemployed an increase was recorded in the number of those with expired temporary employment as well as those who lost their jobs as a result of a bankruptcy or have become permanently redundant.
