Unsuccessful Negotiations of Social Partners

Since the existing Social Agreement is about to expire and a new one has not yet been concluded, employers have prepared a proposition of rules of salaries to be valid until June. Employers suggest a minimal salary at the level of the existing one of SIT 48,373 (US$ 358), an 80-percent escalating rate and benefits according to the last year's criteria. They also suggest to the companies which in the past year produced a loss not to increase their salaries. These points were mentioned by Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce of Slovenia Valter Drozg in his report on two months of negotiations between the social partners and on basic points of disagreement between them.
