Preparations for Pope's Visit

Ljubljana, 24 April - POPE/SLOVENIA/PREPARATIONS
The visit by Pope John Paul II to Slovenia, which bears historic importance for both the Slovene Church and the state, is expected to encourage new evangelization, moral and religious renovation, strengthen the sense of unity with the universal Church and enhance pastoral plans and activities on the way to the year 2000, including preparations for Slovene synod of all three dioceses. Consequently, the though "Father, strengthen our faith" was chosen as the motto of Pope's visit to Slovenia. Also, several books were published ranging from the pope's biography to the book "To Sons and Daughters of the Slovene Nation" dealing with Pope's connections with Slovenes.
