Despite Calls, Convention to Combat Violence against Women Still not Ratified

Ljubljana, 7 August - Three years after Slovenia signed the Council of Europe convention on preventing and combating violence against women, its ratification is still pending. After increasing media reports about cases of brutal domestic violence, the pressure on the government to ratify the convention has been mounting from both NGOs and the relevant ministry.
