Izola, 16 October - Rising mountains of discarded food amid growing poverty were highlighted as a key global issue at a conference in Izola on Thursday, on the occasion of World Food Day. In Slovenia, individuals throw away around 80 kilos of food each year, stressed the participants of the first annual conference on food and health.
