Local Elections Again Bring Triumph to Independents

Ljubljana, 20 October - Independent candidates emerged as big winners of the 2014 local election, having won 115 mayoral posts, according to partial unofficial results. The most successful party, boasting 31 mayors, is the non-parliamentary People's Party (SLS), which traditionally fares well in local elections.
