Jože Plečnik's Works on Display in Prague

Ljubljana/Prague, 16 May - ARCHITECTURE/PRAGUE/PLEČNIK/EXHIBITION/KUČAN/HAVEL
At the Prague castle of Hradchany Slovene and Czech Presidents Milan Kučan and Vaclav Havel will open on 23 May an exhibition entitled Josip Plečnik - Architecture for New Democracy. Events accompanying the exhibition, jointly prepared by the Czech Ministry of Culture and Slovenia's Government Information Office, will include concerts by the Slovene Philharmonic Society and the mixed chamber choir The Ljubljana Madrigalists, along with an exhibition of Plečnik's Chalices and a presentation of eight Plečnik's students (out of 102 in Ljubljana) as the Slovene part of a joint exhibition "Plečnik's Prague and Ljubljana Schools". Also staged in Prague will be an exhibition Slovene Painters - University Lecturers and a photo exhibition Plečnik's Columns by architect-photographer Damjan Gale along with a multimedia presentation of Slovenia - Plečnik's homecountry.
