Pope John Paul II Arrives in Slovenia

Brnik, 17 May - POPE/SLOVENIA/ARRIVAL
Pope John Paul II arrived for a three-day visit in Slovenia Friday afternoon. On his arrival to the Ljubljana Airport, the Pope, scheduled to visit all three Slovene dioceses (Ljubljana, Koper and Maribor) was welcomed by his host, President of Slovenia Milan Kučan, Ljubljana Archbishop and Slovene Metropolitan Alojzij Šuštar, papal nuncio in Slovenia Monsignor Edmond Farhat, several State and Church top officials and the diplomatic corps in Slovenia, as well as by numerous believers. Bells in all the churches in Slovenia began to ring at the Holy Father's arrival. The visit of the Head of the Roman Catholic Church bears the slogan "Father, Confirm Our Faith!".
