Action Urged Against Forced Marriage of Underage Roma Girls

Ljubljana, 7 January - Calls to act against the continuing practice of forced marriage of underage Roma girls among some Roma communities in Slovenia were in the centre of a debate on the issue in Ljubljana on Wednesday. Roma representatives meanwhile had different views on whether forced marriage should be seen as a crime or as part of a tradition.
