Signature Collecting to Close Krško N-Plant Ends

Ljubljana, 21 May - SEG/REFERENDUM/SIGNATURES/N-PLANT/KRŠKO
The SEG (Slovene Environmental Movement) national committee for a referendum on the Krško Nuclear Power Plant shut-down succeeded to gather only 2463 signatures in favour of the referendum in the campaign concluded 17 May, meaning that the referendum on this issue will not be held in the near future. The committee will nevertheless continue its operations (possibly under a new name - the national committee for Krško nuclear power Plant shut-down) to oppose nuclear power and support introduction of other, more environment-friendly resources, Leo Šešerko, head of the committee, told a press conference Tuesday.
